Everything a Client Portal Has

To Get Right
A portal replaces email threads, so access control and an accurate history matter more than features. Clients see only their own files and approvals, and every action taken in the portal is recorded.

Your brand and domain

Permissions are enforced on the server for every request, not hidden in the interface. A client sees their files and nothing else, and we test that with real accounts before launch.

AI solutions

Uploads, versions and sign-offs live in the portal instead of six email threads. Approvals are recorded with who approved what and when, which is usually the reason firms want a portal at all.

Talk to us

The assistant answers from your own material rather than the open internet, so a client asking about a policy gets your policy. When it is not confident it hands over to your team.

AI solutions

Who opened a document, when, and what changed. Useful for disputes, useful for audits, and it removes the argument about whether something was actually sent.

Talk to us

Clients are told when something needs them and reminded if it waits. Your team is told when a client responds, so nothing sits unnoticed for a week.

AI solutions

The portal runs on your domain with your branding, so clients are not handed a third-party login screen that looks nothing like the firm they hired.

Our Technology Stack

A Stack Chosen for the Next Five Years

Business software outlives whatever was fashionable when it was written, so we build on technology with long support horizons: .NET and TypeScript, React and Next.js on the front end, SQL Server or PostgreSQL for data you cannot afford to lose, and Docker and Kubernetes on Azure so the same build runs on a laptop and in production.
Why Choose Us

Why Businesses Choose Our Software Team

Four things that decide whether custom software pays for itself — and how we handle each one.
Application architecture scaling cleanly, with a security check and a release timeline

Business-First Architecture

We start with how the work actually moves through your business, not with a framework. That means mapping the exceptions and the handoffs, because those are where off-the-shelf software usually fails you. The architecture follows the process — so the software fits on day one instead of forcing a workaround.

Built to Scale

The difference between software that grows and software you replace is decided early: how data is modelled, where the bottlenecks sit, whether background work can move to its own service. We make those calls up front so ten times the load is a configuration change rather than a rebuild.

Modern, Supported Technology

Everything we build uses technology with a published support lifecycle and a large hiring pool, so you are never dependent on us specifically. You get the source, the repository and the deployment pipeline — and a written handover, so another team could pick it up if they ever had to.

A Long-Term Partnership

Custom software is never finished; it changes as the business does. You get a named contact, agreed response times, and a roadmap we revisit rather than a closed project. Most of what we build in year two comes from watching how people actually use what we shipped in year one.

Common Questions

Have questions? We've got answers

How much does custom software cost?

Scope drives the price, and the honest range is wide: a focused internal tool is a different project from a multi-tenant platform with billing and integrations. The variables that matter most are how many user roles exist, how many external systems it has to talk to, and how much of your current process is undocumented. We run a paid discovery only when the problem genuinely needs it — otherwise a short call and a fixed written quote in Canadian dollars comes first, before any build work.

How long does a custom software project take?

A focused internal application usually takes eight to twelve weeks; a platform with billing, permissions and third-party integrations more often runs four to six months. We work in two-week increments with something reviewable at the end of each one, so you are never waiting months to see progress. Integrations with systems we do not control are the most common cause of delay, which is why we test those connections in the first fortnight rather than the last.

Do we own the code and the data?

Yes, entirely. You own the source code, the repository, the database and the deployment pipeline, and there are no licence fees payable to us to keep running what we built. We hand over documentation written for a developer who has never met us, precisely so you are not dependent on our availability. If you ever move to another team, everything they need transfers with the project.

Can you work with the systems we already use?

Usually, yes. We start by looking at what your current systems actually expose — a documented API, a database we can read, or scheduled file exports — and design the integration around that rather than asking you to replace software that works. Where a system offers no integration path at all we will say so early and propose the alternatives, including the unglamorous ones like a supervised import, so the limitation is priced in from the start.

What happens if we need changes after launch?

Changes are expected — custom software tracks the business, and businesses move. After launch you can work from a support agreement with an agreed monthly allowance, or commission changes individually, whichever suits how often you expect to need us. Either way you get an estimate before work starts. Much of what we build in a second year comes from watching how people actually use the first release.

Is custom software really better than off-the-shelf?

Not always, and we will tell you when it is not. If a well-supported product covers eighty percent of what you need and you can live with its way of working, buying it is almost always cheaper and faster. Custom is the right answer when the process is genuinely your competitive advantage, when licence costs scale painfully with headcount, or when you are already paying people to bridge the gaps between three tools by hand.

How do you keep our data secure?

Security is designed in rather than reviewed at the end. That means encryption in transit and at rest, role-based access so people see only their own scope, secrets kept out of the codebase, audit logging on anything that changes records, and dependency scanning in the build pipeline. We host on Azure or AWS in the region you need for residency, and we can work to specific requirements such as PIPEDA, HIPAA or SOC 2 where your sector demands it.

What if we already have a partly-built system?

That is a common starting point and not a problem. We audit what exists first — code quality, dependencies, data model and documentation — then give you a straight recommendation on whether to continue it, refactor the parts worth keeping, or restart. Sometimes the honest answer is that finishing it costs more than replacing it, and you deserve that assessment before you spend more, not after.
