Challenges Manufacturers Face

  • Quoting Takes Days

Estimates that take days to assemble and rely on last year cost assumptions.

  • No Floor Visibility

Nobody can say what a job is actually costing until it has already shipped.

  • Paper on the Floor

Job cards, counts and quality checks recorded on paper and typed up much later.

  • Disconnected Systems

Scheduling, quality and maintenance systems that do not share a job record.

  • Traceability Gaps

Batch and lot records kept in folders, which makes a customer audit painful.

  • Unreliable Promises

Delivery dates set without a real view of capacity, then missed and explained.

  • Systems Left Alone

Software still running because replacing it looks like the risk.

  • Work Done by Hand

Rekeying and chasing that quietly eats most of a week.

  • Enquiries Missed

Traffic arrives, reads a page for the wrong buyer, leaves.

  • Split Data

Two systems holding one figure and no agreement which wins.

  • Compliance Informal

Rules you are audited against, handled by whoever remembers.

Our Manufacturing Solutions

  • Quoting & Estimating

Estimates built from real cost, routing and setup times.

  • ERP Integration

Existing systems connected rather than ripped out.

  • Production Dashboards

Live job status visible to the office and the floor.

  • Shop Floor Data

Counts, downtime and checks captured where work happens.

  • Quality & Traceability

Batch and lot records that survive a customer audit.

  • Inventory & Materials

Raw material and WIP visibility across the plant.

  • Distributor Portals

Dealers ordering and checking stock without a phone call.

  • Maintenance Planning

Preventive schedules tied to hours actually run.

  • Job Costing

Actual cost per job compared with the quoted figure.

  • OEE Reporting

Availability, performance and quality in one view.

Common Questions

Manufacturing Software Questions, Answered

Do we have to replace our ERP to get this working?

Almost never, and we would treat that as a last resort. The usual answer is a layer over the ERP that makes the data reachable and usable on the floor, because the ERP is rarely the problem. Replacing one is a multi-year project that most plants do not need in order to fix visibility.

Will the floor terminals survive our environment?

They have to, so hardware is chosen for the plant rather than the office: screens usable with gloves, mounting that copes with vibration and dust, and software that tolerates a network drop without losing a shift of data. We test on the floor before rollout, not in a meeting room.

Can it produce the traceability records our customers ask for?

Yes, and the point is that they are captured as work happens rather than assembled afterwards. Batch and lot genealogy, inspection results and certificates are held against the job and searchable in seconds, which is what turns an audit from a week of folder searching into an afternoon.

Can you pull data directly from our machines?

Where the machines expose it, yes, and the range on a typical floor is wide. Newer equipment usually offers a protocol we can read; older machines may need a sensor or a manual entry step. We survey what you actually have before promising anything, because assuming is expensive here.

Will operators use it, or work around it?

They work around anything that slows the job down, which is a fair reaction. Entry is designed to take seconds with large targets and sensible defaults, and we design it with the operators who will use it. If a step is slower than the paper it replaces, it will be bypassed and should be.

Can we start on one line rather than the whole plant?

That is what we recommend. One line or one cell proves the approach, surfaces the awkward details while the blast radius is small, and gives you real evidence about value before committing further. A plant-wide rollout on day one is how these projects acquire a bad reputation.

How will quoting actually get more accurate?

By closing the loop. Once actual labour, material and machine time are captured per job, every completed job becomes evidence against the quote that won it. Estimating then improves from your own history rather than instinct, which matters most on the work you repeat.

What support is there after go-live?

A support arrangement covering fixes, updates and changes, with response times that suit a plant where a stopped line costs real money. We also expect the system to change as routings and products do, rather than treating every adjustment as a new project.
