Yes, and it is the part that decides whether a portal gets used. Account specific prices, break quantities, promotional terms and customer product codes are applied wherever the buyer looks. A buyer who sees list pricing once will go back to phoning the order desk and not try again.

Challenges Distributors Face
Orders by Phone
A large share of orders still arrive by phone or email and are typed in by hand.
Rekeying Errors
Manual entry that produces the wrong line or quantity, then a credit note.
Pricing Complexity
Contract prices and break quantities that a generic store cannot express.
No Stock Visibility
Buyers cannot see availability, so the order desk answers the same call daily.
Stock Discrepancies
System quantities that disagree with the shelf, discovered during picking.
Thin Order Margins
Cost to serve an account that nobody measures until the year is finished.
Systems Left Alone
Software still running because replacing it looks like the risk.
Work Done by Hand
Rekeying and chasing that quietly eats most of a week.
Enquiries Missed
Traffic arrives, reads a page for the wrong buyer, leaves.
Split Data
Two systems holding one figure and no agreement which wins.
Compliance Informal
Rules you are audited against, handled by whoever remembers.

What We Build
Featured Distribution Services
The systems distributors ask for most often, and what each one changes about the order desk.
A signed-in ordering channel where each account sees its own agreed pricing, its order history and a reorder path that takes a few taps. Buyers place routine orders themselves at whatever hour suits them, and the order desk gets its day back for the exceptions.
Account specific prices, break quantities, promotional terms and customer product codes applied consistently wherever the buyer looks. This is the single most common reason a wholesale portal goes unused: a buyer who sees list price once will phone the desk from then on.
Price, availability, credit status and order history read from the ERP rather than copied into a second database that drifts. We start from what your ERP genuinely exposes and design around it, and we say so early where the safe route in does not exist.
Live availability by warehouse, with lead times for what is not on the shelf, shown to buyers rather than kept behind a phone call. Once availability is trustworthy, a large share of the calls into the order desk simply stop arriving.
Pick paths, scanning and despatch flows shaped around your racking and your order profile, with mis-picks caught at the scan rather than at the customer. We measure handling time before and after so the change is visible in the work.
Customer purchase orders received electronically and turned into sales orders without manual entry, with the acknowledgements and despatch advices your larger accounts expect. For the accounts that mandate EDI, this is the price of keeping the business.
Reps checking stock, seeing account pricing and placing orders from a customer site rather than writing them down to enter later. The order reaches the warehouse while the rep is still in the car park instead of that evening.
Margin by account, product and channel once picking, delivery and returns are counted honestly. Most distributors find a group of small accounts that cost more to service than they contribute, which is a pricing conversation rather than a systems one.

Common Questions
Distribution Software Questions, Answered
Can the portal show each account its own agreed pricing?
Will it integrate with the ERP we already run?
In most cases yes. We start from what your ERP exposes, whether that is an API, a database view or a scheduled export, and design around it so the portal reads price and stock rather than holding a copy that drifts. Where no safe route exists, we say so before quoting.
Our catalogue runs to tens of thousands of lines. Is that a problem?
It is a design constraint rather than a problem, and it is one we plan for from the start. Search, filtering and pricing lookups are built for that depth, because a catalogue of that size behaves nothing like a retail store and the platforms that suit one are usually wrong for the other.
Can you handle EDI for our larger customers?
Yes. Purchase orders can be received electronically and turned into sales orders without manual entry, with acknowledgements and despatch advices sent back in the format each customer expects. For accounts that mandate EDI it is a condition of trading rather than an efficiency project.
Will our customers actually order online instead of phoning?
The ones placing routine repeat orders usually will, once they trust the pricing and the stock figures. The ones with complicated or urgent requirements will keep phoning, and that is the right outcome. The aim is to free the order desk for the calls that genuinely need a person.
Our system stock does not match the shelf. Can that be fixed?
Partly by software and partly by process, and it is worth being clear about which. Scanning at pick and putaway removes most of the drift that comes from manual movements. The rest is cycle counting discipline, and no portal will paper over it if the underlying numbers are wrong.
Do all our accounts have to move at once?
No, and we would advise against it. Portals usually go live with a group of willing accounts first, which surfaces the pricing edge cases while the volume is small. Once those are settled, the rest are moved in waves with the order desk supporting them.
What support is there once it is live?
A support arrangement covering fixes, updates and small changes. Distribution businesses change pricing agreements and add product lines constantly, so the system has to keep moving, and treating each change as a new project would make it unaffordable to own.
